A brief on landscaping and hardscaping When deciding how to support your drainage system, you have two options; there is hardscaping and landscaping. Landscaping consists of greenery such as plants and trees. Hardscaping combines vegetation like plants, flowers, and trees and aesthetics like a water fountain, concrete, wood chips, etc. However, there are some factors to be wary of when landscaping and hardscaping a property. A negative factor affecting drainage is concrete sloped towards the house, leading to unwanted water accumulation. Raised planter beds with no drainage systems are ineffective as they serve as pools that retain water next to your home, which then saturates the soil, which in turn is bad for your home as it can damage your foundation .
